Veronika Eduardovna Kudermetova (born April 24, 1997, in Kazan, Russia) is a professional tennis player known for her powerful baseline game and versatility on both singles and doubles courts. She achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 9 in October 2022 and reached No. 2 in doubles in June 2022.
Kudermetova turned professional in 2011 and has since secured two WTA singles titles, including victories at the 2021 Charleston Open and the 2023 Tokyo tournament. In doubles, she's claimed eight WTA titles, highlighted by winning the 2022 WTA Finals alongside Elise Mertens.
Veronika comes from a sports-oriented family. Her father, Eduard Kudermetov, was a national ice hockey champion, and her younger sister, Polina Kudermetova, is also a professional tennis player. Veronika began playing tennis at the age of eight and her skills were immediately apparent -- she quickly developed into a competitive player in international play. As of March 2025, Kudermetova is ranked No. 51 in singles and No. 12 in doubles, continuing to be a prominent figure on the WTA Tour.
