Camila Giorgi is an Italian professional tennis player. She is right-handed and plays with a two-handed backhand. After playing at junior level, she made her senior international tournament debut in 2006 at the ITF Women's Circuit. After winning her first ITF title in 2009, Giorgi made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2011 Wimbledon Championships. Camila reached her best singles ranking of world No. 30 in July 2015.
She's known for her aggressive play and her powerful flat groundstrokes, and is considered to be one of the hardest hitters on the tour. Her most notable professional wins have come at the 2013 US Open, 2014 BNP Paribas Open, and 2014 Aegon International, defeating former world No. 1 players Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sharapova, and Victoria Azarenka, respectively. In addition to that, Giorgi has won more matches against top-10 players than she has lost.
